VIDEO: Sakaja begins Nairobi thanksgiving tour in Langata-Kibra

Date:

Ahead of the official start of the 2017 campaign period, Super Senator Johnson Sakaja has embarked on a whirlwind thanksgiving tour of all the 17 constituencies of Nairobi after clinching the Jubilee ticket.

In a strong statement that underlined a broad vote of confidence, Sakaja garnered a whopping163,448 votes against his nearest challenger Mutinda Kavemba who managed 33,109 votes.  An analysis of the constituency breakdown shows that Sakaja now enjoys the broad support of all communities and social segments living in Nairobi.

Yesterday, fresh from emerging as the popular choice for the next Senator of Nairobi County from the Jubilee Party nominations, the former TNA Chairman who is also a nominated MP, Sakaja held a well-attended consultative meeting with leaders and residents drawn from all the wards of Langata and Kibra constituencies at the Nairobi West Prisons Hall to express his personal gratitude to the voters for  their overwhelmingly support during the recently concluded primaries.

The incoming Senator for Nairobi challenged the people of Nairobi to disregard tribal affiliations and vote for leaders who will deliver purposeful leadership and solutions to the many challenges bedeviling the county of Nairobi especially the urban poor.

As part of his mission to connect directly to the people of Nairobi, Sakaja assured the people of Kibra and Langata that he will  ensure free healthcare to 486000 of the most vulnerable households in Nairobi through Sakaja Care Program.

Sakaja, who won a public endorsement from COTU’s Secretary General Francis Atwoli, is expected to continue his thanksgiving tour with a visit to Makadara – Starehe this weekend.
