WTF? Ex Nairobi DG Igathe resigns from Vivo Energy again, has quit 3 jobs in a year, incompetence?

Date:

Polycarp Igathe has left Vivo Energy where he worked as the Executive Vice President in charge of Sales for Africa, raising questions over his competence.

A statement from Vivo Energy said: “We thank Polycarp for his contribution to Vivo Energy and wish him the very best in the future.”

The reason for his exit has however not been established and it remains unclear where he may he headed to. The high job turnover is a sign of incompetence a seasoned HR expert told this writer. You can’t be jumping from one company to another just before you even finish the probation period (6 months)

Vivo Energy also announced that Omar Benson has agreed to serve in Igathe’s position on an interim basis.

Omar will however continue to serve his current role; Head of Retail and CR Strategy and projects while reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Igathe returned to Vivo Energy in September 2019 after a four-month stint at Equity Bank as the managing director.

He was previously the Nairobi Deputy Governor, a position he resigned from citing ideological differences with his boss Mike Sonko.

Before his short stint in politics, Igathe had been working at Vivo Energy as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

There has been no indication as to where Igathe intends to move to
