President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived safely in Arusha, Tanzania yesterday morning ahead of the 17th East African Community (EAC) Heads of State Summit.
Kenyatta’s trip to Tanzania makes 69 the total foreign trips he has made as President since he took over at the helm of affairs in April 2013, courtesy of tax payers.
Meanwhile, his counterpart Tanzanian President John Pombe Maghufuli is yet to make his 1st foreign trip since he was elected Tanzanian President.
Surprisingly, Tanzania’s President John Magufuli was visibly absent at the Airport to receive Uhuru. Instead, Kenyan high commissioner to Tanzania, ambassador Chirao Ali Mwakwere was the only high ranking official at the airport to welcome Uhuru.
Nonetheless, Kenyatta was received in pomp and color, as well as accorded a guard of honor by the Tanzanian forest guards popularly known as “Askari wa forest”and a handful of military personnel.
