BUSIA PREPARES TO WELCOME RAILA AS JOHO JOINS WESTERN TOUR
ODM supporters have laid a grand reception for ODM Party Leader the Rt Hon Raila Odinga who is expected in Busia County this morning for the start of a two day visit.
Raila’s aircraft is scheduled to touchdown at the Busia Airstrip at 0930 hours where he will be received by a host of ODM leaders led Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong, Women Representative Florence Mutua, and local Senator Amos Wako among other members of parliament and party leaders. A delegation from Siaya and Kakamega led by Governors Cornel Rasanga and Wycliff Oparanya will also be at hand to receive Raila.
And for the first time, also joining the Western tour, will be Governor Ali Hassan Joho of Mombasa County who is accompanied by a high-powered coastal delegation. Joho is one of the two ODM deputy party leaders and a fierce defender of CORD leader Raila Odinga. Also expected to welcome Raila is wavering ODM MP for Funyula Dr. Paul Otuoma who has since had a change of heart.
The program for the day will be as follows:
• Mau Mau – Roadside address
• Port Victoria (Budalang’i) -Meeting with ODM delegates
• Budalang’i – Public Rally
• Sio Port (Funyula) – Roadside address
• Funyula town – Public rally
• Bumala – Roadside rally
The Busia tour will resume tomorrow with the program dominated by delegate meetings and public rallies.
