Jubilee attempt to blame parliament for rising food prices:
By H Omollo
The decision by President Uhuru to recall parliament to discuss rising food prices is not only political but also a clear attempt to share blame with parliament for his govt’s failed economic policies.
Uhuru was given power to run our country for 5 years . Billions have been sunk in projects that are not visible to the common man.
Galana-Kulalu irrigation project is a sad case in point. We have fake fertilizer to North Rift farmers. A factory was commissioned for fertilizer production, how far it went is unknown .
Then we had the outbreak of FAW (Fall Army worm) which was not addressed on time and has decimated farms across the country. This means that low harvest is expected in June-July.
Our national debt has skyrocketed from 1.8trillion to close to 4trillion. This has increased our debt service to more than 400billion. You can imagine if 35% or more of your taxes is used to service debt.
ADVICE TO NASA:
Don’t be duped into sharing blame of failed economic policies by being part of parliament discussion on food prices. Go back to parliament to do one thing—Remind Uhuru of Corruption,Misuse of public debt like Eurobond, lack of cohesion and integration…pls remember cost of living is the main campaign message ,don’t dilute it in parliament ..
