“Jakuodho oyie dhao”…he who has just fired from the exhaust,or broken the wind, is always very swift to put up a fight if anyone insinuates they are responsible for the foul smell. I have a feeling you were a beneficiary of the flawed elections and you probably would’ve lost had fairness prevailed in the primaries and thats why you come out guns blazing, with a carefully worded statement to endorse Raila’s stand on independents.
Somewhere around 2014 or 2015 when you had a fallout with Raila, should be over party elections, you were quoted saying you were “helped through” with your nominations and in fact you were given a fake certificate. That is what probably happened again in this year’s nominations and so you have to defend it, vigorously, being a beneficiary. If you agree that the exercise was flawed, then by supporting it’s results, you are simply endorsing chaos that passed for the primaries including the death of your body guard
If dealing with the tryranny is the motivation,as you state, then Raila amd the opposition would’ve burnt the mid night oil to ensure they approach the parliamentary elections as NASA by fielding joint candidates as the opposition coalition in the various seats. This would’ve consolidated the opposition vote in one basket thus locking out marauding Jubilee from various constituency a development which would’ve poured cold water on the tyranny.
At that point no opposition party would think along these lines because each had it’s own cards, below the table, to be played in their respective primaries and it’s after muddying the waters with nominations that suddenly the parties realised they have to deal with tyranny and the best way to achieve it is by suffocating the political rights of independents by disowning them after they were unfairly robbed of their nominations victories
You have “won” in the last two elections,Raila didn’t and thats why you don’t mind escorting him to the abattoir once again and you are encouraging the king to walk naked instead of pointing to his nakedness by telling him the reality that he is a coalition’s presidential flag bearer and in the same way that Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula ceded ground for him,he too should learn to reciprocate by playing beyond ODM politics and let the aspirants square it out, without his approval or disapproval. To get that presidency he must forfeit many things on his way there
An injustice does not cease to be one because it favours you. In this race every vote counts. To set the record straight I didn’t participate in the nominations and had not anticipated anyone’s support, but I care for Raila’s victory and again I am not contesting in Nyanza but in Likuyani where ODM cannot win anything but Raila is likely to get at least at least 35k votes. Am only getting involved because am an independent and for reasons that if I pass by two strangers fighting,I must stop by to ask who is the aggressor so that I can join hands with the victim to deliver justice
