STATE HOUSE SPOKESPERSON’S STATEMENT ON THE CHIEF JUSTICE’S DECISION TO PUBLISH NEW RULES FOR CORRUPTION CASES

His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta congratulates Chief Justice David Maraga on his decision to publish new rules of procedure for cases of corruption and economic crimes. The new rules make it clear that those who misuse or misappropriate public money will be held accountable faster.

As always the President stands ready to give Chief Justice Maraga, and the entire Judiciary, his full support in enforcing these new regulations, and, more broadly, in ensuring the war on corruption is won.

The President also expects that other agencies that play a role in the fight against corruption will borrow a leaf from Chief Justice Maraga and take responsibility for their part in this war so that it is won once and for all.

Secretary, Communication &

State House Spokesperson
