A week to the general election, NASA Leader Raila Odinga has opened an unassailable lead against President Uhuru in 27 counties, achieving the first constitutional requirement to be president which demands that a presidential candidate must win in at least half the 47 counties.

Raila also beats Uhuru convincingly in Nairobi, where the president is trailing with double digits. Nairobi has nearly two million votes and the NASA Leader is eyeing over 1.5 million.

Other major towns and counties Raila leads are Mombasa, Kakamega, Bungoma, Kisumu, Kilifi, Kisii, Trans Nzoia, Taita Taveta, Kwale, Migori, Busia, Homa Bay, Vihiga, Kisumu, Nyamira, Narok, Siaya, Kajiado, Wajir, Garissa, Mandera and Turkana.

The ODM Leader also beats Uhuru in Samburu, Lamu, Bomet and Tana River counties, according to a new poll by the Centre for Transitional Democracy (CTD), a Nairobi-based think-tank.

President Uhuru is holding grip in swathes of the Rift Valley and Central, the ethnic bedrock of his Deputy William Ruto and himself respectively.

The Jubilee headache are in counties that will divide the vote, with sections of it voting NASA overwhelmingly. These are Nakuru, Uasin Gishu and Meru Counties.
