Raila’s EPIC journey to State House begins this Sunday

The National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga and his running mate H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka are scheduled to present their nomination papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission on Sunday 28th May 2017.

In an elaborate program released earlier on Friday by Nairobi Governor H.E. Evans Kidero; both Raila and Kalonzo will attend a special Sunday Service in the morning at All Saints Cathedral before proceeding to the KICC to make a formal filing of their nomination documents to the IEBC commissioners.

After acceptance of his documents by IEBC, Raila will make a short address to international media and the public that shall have gathered to witness the historic occasion.

Raila and Kalonzo are then expected to lead a huge convoy in a roadshow that will snake through Jogoo Road destined for Jacaranda Grounds in Embakasi East Constituency where NASA leaders will address a highly anticipated mammoth rally which will be attended by wananchi from all walks of life from the republic of Kenya and invited guest from overseas.

The gravity of the event that marks the official start of the 2017 general election campaigns is underlined by a scheduled pre-event inspection of the grounds to conducted in person on Saturday by Governor Kidero and NASA leaders together with officials of the Raila Odinga Presidential Secretariat. The Jacaranda grounds will be guarded overnight by tens of no-nonsense ODM party youth who are popularly known as Men-in-black.

At KICC, Raila and Kalonzo must submit the prequisite documents to the IEBC  including their educational qualification certificates, National ID Cards, passport size photographs the ODM Nomination Certificate issued by ODM, a duly signed and dated Code of Conduct IEBC Nomination Form and nomination fee in banker’s cheque format.

All Nairobi NASA candidates including the Governor, Deputy Governor, Senator, Women Rep and MPS plus all NASA constituent county party officials are expected to attend the event that marks the start of the NASA coaltion journey to State House.

The opposition NASA coalition are billed to be in its strongest position and widely expected to cause a major electoral upset in the Augst 8th polls.
