Guys in Huruma are cultured. They queued voted and went home. No ugly incidents
There was hell in all other participating wards/constituencies, from Hell’s Gate to Matungu. According to the participants, victory had to come by hook or crook and if the ballot wasn’t going to bring it, then the bullet was to!
The results are 100% as I had predicated. All eyes were on UDA, the new kid on the block, and he has performed underwhelming. I am a veteran of these terraces and when I talk, you should listen
Of the seven elections, UDA only triumphed London of Nakuru County. In Hell’s gate in the same County, which is supposed to be the party’s home turf, Jubilee took it, as it was the case in Eldoret’s Huruma Ward, where Jubilee won
In Huruma UDA didn’t present a candidate but tangatanga honchos including Moses Kuria vigorously campaigned for Matokeo of People’s Empowerment Party
In Kiamakoma in Kisii County, ODM won, in a race the UDA was fourth
In Marungu, sorry Matungu, the deceased MP who was being replaced, was elected on an ANC ticket. He then defected to tangatanga. In this by election, the UDA candidate was a distant third
This means MPs who defected to this new outfit went alone without their people. Again, Khalwale did a marvelous job campaigning there. He deserves a congratulatory message from the party. He posted photos of well attended rallies. So rallies mean nothing, in politics and cannot be used as the yardstick to gauge a candidate’s performance
Late last year Ruto had a mammoth crowd in Mugirango in Mumias, when he launched the Wanga Technical and Vocational College. Seems these crowds mean nothing
Still on Matungu, several independent candidates quit the race to support the UDA candidate. These men are as wise as the virgins who carried spare oil for their “koroboi” in one of the parables of the Jewish anthology. They were invited to Karen and given what Moi called “chai ya mama” for their kind gesture
Apparently they never added anything to Alex Lanya’s tally. In Kabuchai, only a madman can contest and expect to win again a candidate with such a name as Majimbo Kalasinga. The name suggests the man is ruthless in anything he does
The last time I checked, the UDA candidate was trailing by far, he had at least 5k while the Kalasinga had close to 20k. That’s a humiliation too painful to carry home for Cherargei and the team that went there
As it happens with disgruntled lovers, who become the greatest philosophers in Mukuru Kwa Zuckerberg, tangatanga apologists have coined a line that suggests that their party has achieved much because it is relatively new. That’s cheap!
The newness of any party should define it’s strength and not it’s weakness, NARC, PNU, TNA, and Jubilee, were all new parties when they swept the country winning seats and even “winning” presidency
Time erodes parties. It should be news that an old party like KANU has won but for UDA it shouldn’t be any newsworthy, as this should be very normal
I understand there was a Kitise ward in Makueni, which a WIPER candidate won. In a nutshell, Jubilee won two, as the others, ODM, WIPER, UDA, ANC and FORD win one each
Good morning my fellow Hoof-Eaters!!
