BREAKING: Uganda Electoral Commission DECLARES Museveni WINNER of Presidential Vote as Kizza Bisigye is UNDER HOUSE ARREST

Date:

President Yoweri Museveni has won Uganda’s presidential election, the electoral commission announced on Saturday, cementing his 30-year grip on power in the East African nation.

“The commission declares Yoweri Kaguta Museveni elected President of the Republic of Uganda,” commission chairman Badru Kiggundu said.

Dictator Museveni won 60.8 percent of the vote, while his main challenger Kizza Besigye won 35.4 percent. European Union and Commonwealth observers have criticised the poll and Besigye’s camp had disputed preliminary results. The electoral commission is just a tool for President Museveni.

About 10 people have been killed in alleged post election violence with gory images doing rounds on social media.

Popular opposition leader Kizza Bisigye remains under house arrest with no contact with media or outside world.
