Retired ACK Archbishop Eliud Wamukekhe Wabukala has been touted as a possible replacement of IEBC Chairman. God forbid! It is a suggestion all Kenyans of goodwill must reject in totality!
For someone whose tenure saw congregations reduce significantly, one whose tenure was marked by indecisiveness, silence and fence-sitting at times when the country was at crossroads and the government of the day was committing all manner of evil, one whose leadership encouraged growth of secular churches led by conmen/women and all manner of miscreants, Wabukala remains the last person anyone would propose for a sensitive position as that of the IEBC Chair.
Wabukala presided over the most distrusted church organization ever and one must imagine how the likes of Otunga or Gitari are looking down with disgusts at the unbecoming behavior of current church leaders in Kenya. What a pity!
To make matters worse, the retired clergyman Wabukala successfully canvassed for his son Samuel Wakuti Wabukala, to be employed at the Office of the Deputy President, Department of Legislative and Intergovernmental Liaison Office (LILO) based at the 4th floor, Harambee House Annex. Same roof with the Deputy President. This obviously introduces a serious conflict of interest dilemma for the Archbishop who will be duty bound to favour those who employed his son.
CORD must rejected this proposal that clergymen can always be trusted. Not in Kenya and not in this day and age. Now you know why Moses Kuria is jumping up and down like a he-goat on heat with the Wabukala name. They have him in their pockets.
