The recklessness is almost surreal. The open beating of war drums. They don’t even attempt to package it in “campaign language”. It’s plain “vote for us or it’s 2007 all over again”.
If I was to advice the Kalenjin, I would tell them plainly that the PEV was such a long time ago that it is totally naive to assume the Kikuyu in RV have just been sitting there for ten years roasting maize! They have had the presidency and controlled the security services tightly since then.
In fact there have been very clinical moves to remove influential Kalenjins from the security services. By 2022, there will be none high enough to rely on.
Most importantly, the assumption that Kikuyus will be lame ducks in 2022 waiting to be used for target practice is straight out of a nursery story book. The firepower you will meet will shock you.
If Ruto wants the presidency so bad, let him run in 2017. There is no debt the Kikuyu owe him.
My friends, this is not 2007. You just wait.
