DP Ruto was on Friday humiliated in Kirinyaga as residents heckled area governor Ann Waiguru. Chants of mwizi mwizi mwizi crowded the air as DP Ruto tried to calm the residents.
DP Ruto had visited the county to launch construction of two roads but was forced to control a section of locals who were bent on shouting down the county boss as grassroots divisions played out.
At Kerugoya, he launched 100km Gakoigo- Njegas stretch of roads and promised more projects in coming months.
His speech at Kerugoya was badly interrupted as youth chanted “Waiguru must go, mwizi mwizi”, forcing DP Ruto to calm the youth.

It later emerged that the heckling was a result of simmering rivalries between Waiguru and husband to Kirinyaga county Woman Rep Purity Ngirici.
