Just in: NYERI GOVERNOR Wahome Gakuru is dead!, he was involved in grisly road accident near Kabati on theThika-Muranga highway.
Governor’s Mercedez Benz went through the rail. He suffered serious injuries, was rushed to Thika Level 5 hospital where he died shortly after being admitted to ICU.
Driver rescued but in critical condition.
Governor was trapped in the wreckage for some time as locals struggled to get him out. He was rushed to hospital thereafter but did not make it.
The body is being moved from Thika Level 5 hospital to Lee Funeral Home, Nairobi.
It is said that the vehicle he was driving in was speeding to attend a talk show on Kameme FM/K24
Yesterday Dr Gakuru hosted family and friends at his Runda home. He also spent time with his son who’s currently doing his KCSE at Alliance High School.
Today he’s no more after a fatal accident. Such is life. Fickle. One moment you are alive, the next you are gone.
Rest in peace Gakuru and may God give the family patience at this time, especially the young man sitting for his exams.
