Jubilee supporters who assembled in Bomet town to celebrate Kericho senator elect Aaron Cheruiyoit’s win were today morning neutralised within seconds by Governor Rutto’s Maendeleo Mashinani supporters.
Demonstrations/celebrations in support of Jubilee was reportedily organized by Bomet Senator Hon Wilfred Lesan and Deputy speaker Hon Joyce Laboso Obonyo who is also Sotik MP ended in disarray after Mashinani supporters chased away asking them to go and celebrate in Kericho and Nakuru where Aaron hails from.
MCAs Hon Benard Ngeno and Hon Malel escaped narrowly from beating .Former Councillor Peter Langat was addressing the Jubilee supporters near Kass FM office in Bomet town when youths allied to KANU/MASHINANI disrupted the meeting. Police moved quickly and dispersed and tear gassed the groups.
Business operations in the rural town resumed on smoothly after about half an hour.
