The National Intelligence Service NIS has disputed the controversial opinion poll by Trends and Insights For Africa (TIFA) which predicted a landslide victory for Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and his Machakos counterpart Alfred Mutua.
This is after Safaricom data showed that Kidero –(0728601299) and Mutua allegedly had a telephone conversation with TIFA Director and owner Maggie Ireri – (0722 44 36 xx) to cook the opinion poll immediately after Radio Africa group released a poll that showed Senator Mike Sonko was heading for resounding victory in 2017 against Kidero.
According to NIS the report that was released by Ireri on Monday, was greatly influenced by Mutua who’s chances of being elected in 2017 was put at 81% despite his corruption scandals and non delivery of highly publicized promises to the Machakos electorate. It’s alleged Ms Ireri is a girlfriend to Governor Mutua and is said to have been instrumental in the establishment of the new research firm.
The NIS report is said to indicate that Governor Mutua commissioned the report after he realised that ground is shifting and that most of the electorate are likely vote for CORD candidate or any other party Vice President Kalonzo will be aligned with. Machakos residents seem to be against Maendeleo Chap Chap movement. Governor Kidero is said to have oiled the poll.
The TIFA boss Ms Ireri was formally the MD of Ipsos Synovate and is well remembered during the last presidential election in 2013 when she released a cooked up pool indicating Uhuruto had won the elections with a great margin
