Fast-rising and increasingly influential ODM Deputy Party Leader Governor Ali Hassan Joho of Mombasa has arrived in Nairobi amidst excitement from party members to lead a celebratory party caravan that will snake its way around Nairobi County on Sunday culminating in a mammoth public rally at the Masinde Muliro Grounds in Huruma, Mathare sub-county hosted by long-term party lawyer and Mathare Constituency aspirant Anthony T . Oluoch.
A statement released by Party Secretary General Hon Sen Agnes Zani at Orange House this morning indicated that the events for Sunday 18th September had been organised as part of month long celebrations to mark the Orange Democratic Movement’s decade of existence.
With Party Leader the Rt. Hon Raila Odinga out of the country for a working tour of Germany the day’s proceedings will be led by popular ODM Deputy Party Leader H.E. Hon. Hassan Joho and the Nairobi Governor H.E. Hon. Dr. Evans Kidero who will be accompanied by a host of party officials drawn from across the country.
A party official told this writer several high ranking diaspora guests are expected to be attendance on a day that thousands of wananchi will congregate at the Masinde Muliro Grounds to hear a message of hope from the ODM leadership ahead of the 2017 campaigns.
The party has formally released part of the proposed caravan route plan for Sunday, Sept 18th as follows:
10:00am – Kawangware 46
11:00am – Kibra (Makina – Laini saba – Highrise – KNH – Haile Selassie)
12:30pm – Marikiti – Kariokor – Pangani – Mlango Kubwa – Kiboro – Ngei
2:30pm – Masinde Muliro.
All Kenyans of goodwill are encouraged to attend.
