It has now emerged that former Nairobi County Finance CEC, Pauline Kahiga used her influence to award lucrative tenders to her mother.
In exclusive documents obtained by our news team, Kahiga is reported to have used her influence to award City Hall tenders to her mother, Nancy Wanjiku Kahiga.
Nancy Wanjiku Kahiga, whose company Nanku Company Ltd has already been flanked by the Auditor General for conflict of interest, has so far been paid over Sh 70m for the last few months since Pauline Kahiga joined the Finance docket.
In the documents in our possession, Nancy Kahiga who is a Director of Nanku Company Ltd, was recently paid Sh 3 million after her daughter pushed for her payment. The payment is part of millions of shillings worth of tenders awarded to Nanku Company Ltd since 2019 when Mrs Pauline was appointed the acting Finance CEC.
Kahiga took over the Finance docket at City Hall in 2019 in an acting capacity after the suspension of Charles Kerich by Governor Mike Sonko.
Last week Governor Sonko reshuffled his cabinet and replaced Pauline Kahiga after it emerged that she was using her influence to award tenders to her mother.
Sonko has already appointed Trade CEC Allan Igambi as acting Finance CEC after Pauline’s scandal was revealed.
We will keep you posted as more evidence is availed to us by the Auditor General of the Pauline Kahiga Mum’s scandal.
