Self-acclaimed bull fighter Boni Khalwale has urged Deputy President William Ruto to join the opposition in order to secure his political ambition.
The former Kakamega Senator has alleged Ruto’s ambition to become Kenya’s president in 2022 is in danger because rich politicians intending to protect their dynasties have ganged up against him.
He claimed President Uhuru Kenyatta, opposition leader Raila Odinga and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi of colluding to ensure Ruto fails in his 2022 presidential bid.
“There is collusion between Raila, Uhuru and Gideon who were born in rich families to finish Ruto politically, that is why I urge him to join other opposition leaders to outdo his detractors in 2022,” said Khalwale.
The outspoken legislator who is backing Ruto’s opposition against a constitution amendment fronted by Raila and his allies, said opposition leaders have the interests of ordinary Kenyans who are majority voters, hence well placed to defeat their competitors.
“Raila and Uhuru are children of presidents and deputy presidents and want to protect their dynasties and cannot allow the son of a peasant to outdo them. I want to remind Ruto we are on the other hand children of peasants and can work effectively together,” said Khalwale.
“Ruto should open his eyes and come to the hustlers’ team, we share a common background and our unity cannot be broken by the power hungry individuals,” said Khalwale. The former senator expressed confidence that no faction can beat a coalition of Ruto, Wetangula, Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
“We will be an unstoppable with Ruto in this camp because we will have appropriate answers to all Kenyans. It is time that the DP makes up his mind boldly and join the camp which fits him well,” added Khalwale.
