A student at Lumama Mixed Secondary School in Lugari sub-County in Kakamega County is reported to have committed suicide following a love triangle in school.
Reports indicate that the Form Three boy allegedly poisoned himself on Thursday after his said girlfriend, who is a class behind, allegedly cheated on him with a boy from a neighbouring school.
While confirming the incident, Lugari location Chief Evans Adavaji said that the student received information that his girlfriend had a secret love affair with another student which triggered him to take the said action.
“After the boy heard that his girlfriend in Form Two had another boyfriend, he took the poison… He was later taken to Lumakanda Sub-County Hospital after the attempted suicide,” Adavaji said
Adavaji added that the boy died while undergoing treatment.
