Just three days after all MCAs in West Pokot county decamped Jubilee for KANU, more than 30 MCAs in Baringo county have also crossed over to Kanu from the Jubilee Party.
They said there is no future in JP. Last Sunday at Chemolingot in Tiaty subcounty, MCAs alleged discrimination in JP. They said they believe in Kanu’s democracy ahead of 2017 and 2022.
The MCAs include Daniel Tuwit (Ripko), Isaiah Kibowen (Marigat), Jackson Kaparkei (Mochongoi), James Kapedo (aspirant Sossion ward in Laikipia North), Maria Logile (aspirant Loyamorok), Peter Kagathi (Maji Mazuri), Sammy Louren (aspirant Tirioko) and Solomon Makal (Kolowa). Last week, Kanu secretary general Nick Salat threatened to sue JP for using its own party colours to popularise it.
Silale MCA Nelson Lotela said, “We have seen JP has its own people and it would not lead us anywhere after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s term ends.” He urged more leaders to ditch JP.
