The 2025 edition of the Shaban Gishu Super Cup wrapped up in thrilling fashion on Sunday, marking the end of four months of high-energy grassroots football across Roysambu Constituency and Nairobi County.
Nearly 30 local teams participated in the tournament, which transformed neighbourhood grounds into hubs of passion and competition. Fans, families, and community leaders turned out in large numbers, proving the power of sport to bring people together.
The grand finale, staged at Githurai Sports Grounds, lived up to its billing. Crowds packed the venue to watch two heated showdowns that capped off one of the most anticipated football events in the city.
In the men’s final, Githurai All-Stars outclassed Roysambu FC with a convincing 4-1 win. Their performance was sharp, fast, and well-coordinated—showing clear dominance in attack and control in midfield. The victory secured them the 2025 title and bragging rights across Nairobi’s local football scene.
The women’s final also delivered top-tier football. Githurai Starlets defeated Blitz Women 3-0 in a commanding display that highlighted their strength, discipline, and teamwork. With this win, the Starlets added another title to their impressive record and solidified their place among Nairobi’s rising women’s teams.
The award ceremony was full of celebration and pride. Both winners and runners-up were awarded trophies and cash prizes. Leaders, fans, and football stakeholders all came out to celebrate the young talent on display and cheer on the athletes.
Special recognition was given to the Shaban Foundation and Shaban Gishu & Friends, whose support and sponsorship made the tournament possible. Their efforts continue to nurture young talent, promote unity, and build a stronger sports culture in the community.
The 2025 Shaban Gishu Super Cup wasn’t just about goals and trophies—it was a platform for growth, hope, and connection. And with momentum already building, next year’s edition promises to be even bigger.
