Nairobi County Chief Inspectorate Peter Mbaya on Thursday said that County Government led by Governor Mike Sonko will take 300 people for bench marking in Rwanda to learn how to keep Nairobi organized and clean. The delegation will include boda boda operators, hawkers and matatu operators to benchmark trip in Rwanda.
Mr Mbaya said the trip will have 100 members from each sector to learn order in Kigali.
“The selected group will go to Kigali Rwanda to borrow the best practices that has made it the cleanest city in Africa,” he said.
He said bodaboda operators have to come up with self-regulation to operate within the CBD.
On demolitions of unsafe buildings and structures, Mbaya said the county government will continue to issue sufficient notices to the concerned parties.
” We give adequate notice before carrying out demolitions. Three months, a month and finally a 24-hour notice,” Mbaya said.
In addition, Mbaya said engineers are on the ground carrying out surveys on how to address the menace of drainage systems.
