Once upon a time, Nyamira county government bought hundreds goats for milking from Denmark each going at 300k in 2014. They were given to youths groups across the county. Few weeks later all the goats died after they failed to adopt to the weather in Nyamira. Not even a single drop of milk was harvested from them.
Once upon a time Nyamira County procured fingerlings worth several millions and poured into several rivers in the county so that they can mature to tilapia and Nyamira becomes a fish producing County. Several months later no fish came out of the rivers! This happened sometime in 2014!
Once upon a time, Nyamira County Government embarked on a process of ‘impreganting’ all cows in Nyamira with an imported artificial insemination product from Brazil. Out of the 10,000 cows inseminated, none has given birth 6yrs later.
Once upon a time, Nyamira County Government embarked on a multi-milllion bee keeping exercise in the county. They procured thousands of bee hives from Australia and placed them in bushes along the rivers in Nyamira. 6yrs later not even 1gram of honey has been harvested from the bee hives!
Once upon a time, Nyamira County embarked on multi-million beautification exercise in Nyamira Town. They planted flowers along the Highway from Nyamira to Kona-T, 3km away. 5 weeks later the flowers were swallowed by bushes, others stepped on by the public since they were planted outside people’s businesses.
