EXPOSED: HOW Raila’s call to Gor Mahia board REINSTATED head coach’s contract

There was wide spread condemnation of the Gor Mahia FC board for sacking head coach Frank Nuttal on Thursday 4th February, 2016. The club did not give any reasons however Nuttal had exposed on Facebook that he had been pushed out after the board ordered his salary slashed by 50%.

Well, the loud cries of the Gor Mahia fans reached the club patron- Baba Raila and he wasted no chance , he immediately made calls to club president and all was fine within 24hours as the board reversed the decision to dismiss Nuttal.

Barely 24 hours after the sacking of Frank Nuttal, the board of Gor Mahia announced that the decision had been reversed and that Nutall remains the head coach.

Baba Raila is said to have dispatched Eliud Owalo to ensure the little matter was sorted in an emergency meeting was also attended by Mombasa county Senator Hassan Omar and Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier in Mombasa.

Frank Nuttal is thus expected to pick up from where he left last season after guiding Gor to an unbeaten run in what was the clubs best ever season.

In a statement, Nuttal revealed that Gor Mahia wanted him to take the cut yet his contract states that he should instead get a 10% salary increase following his success in the previous season.
Gor is one of the most successful club in Kenyas football history and boosts of a formidable fan base majorly drawn from the luo community.
