Punguza mzigo’s Ekuru Aukot heckled and chased from West Pokot, he is Ruto project

Date:

Alego Usonga Member of Parliament Samuel Atandi has lauded West Pokot residents after they denied audience and chased a way Thirdway Alliance party leader Ekuru Aukot on Wednesday.

Aukot and his team were in the area to seek support for the Punguza Mizigo Bill 2019 but they were given a hostile reception as Members of County Assembly, and some residents vowed not to back the much-hyped Bill seeking to amend the 2010 Constitution.

In a tweet, Atandi lauded the move claiming Kenyans will only rally behind the bill from Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), which was formed following March 9, 2018 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

“West Pokot residents know how to seperate imposters, idlers, and hirelings from the true leaders of Revolution. It is handshake, BBI, President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga to the very end.” Atandi said

Aukot was heckled by MCAs for proposing scrapping of nominated seats, which they said had hugely benefited marginalised counties such as theirs.

“Why scrap off nominations? Ekuru should focus on fighting corruption rather than fighting the Constitution,” said nominated MCA Eunice Andiema.

Only four Ward Representatives listened to the constitutional expert as others, 29, walked out of the chambers in protest of the Bill.

After his presentation at the county assembly was prematurely terminated, Aukot moved to Makutano town where only a handful of residents listened to him.
