It appears Nation Media Group (NMG) is hellbent on furthering their mischief and hate campaign against Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.
Just recently Daily Nation published and publicized unsubstantiated allegations painting Sonko’s City Hall as “chaotic and disorganized”; allegations that were rebuffed by the governor.
Even before the dust settle on the matter, Nairobi News, a tabloid under NMG is at it againb fabricating stories about Sonko’s meeting with the Rt. Hon Raila Odinga.
The tabloid claims that Sonko sought help from Mr Odinga on how to run Nairobi county. This is balderdash! It is not only an insult to Sonko but also a desperate attempt to belittle the person of Odinga.
Hon Odinga and President Kenyatta are currently engaged in high-stakes project of building bridges and uniting Kenyans. What all Kenyans must do, including tabloids like Nairobi News, is to support this initiative.
Trying to draw Mr Odinga into City Hall affairs is indecorous. Furthermore, Sonko is doing a good job that we should all appreciate.
Revenue collection has skyrocketed, he is dismantling city cartels and trying his best to deal with the garbage menace among other pressing matters.
But some media houses can not appreciate his efforts because they’re fighting a proxy war at the expense of truth.
