A police officer based at Nairobi Area Police Station has been accused of unwarranted and harassment of a night guard.
Corporal Kiragu has been accused of apprehending Stephen Mwangi on the 24th of this month at 6:00am and detained him at Nairobi Area Police Station before transferring him to Kilimani Police Station without preferring charges on him as required in the constitution.
A youth lobby group christened young Kenyan patriots has now petitioned Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinet over what they term as harassment of a citizen by a Nairobi based CID officer.
Addressing press outside Kilimani police station on Wednesday evening, the lobby national chairperson Mark-Moses Maina said it’s unlawful for a police officer to harass employees of Plovers Hant in Nairobi’s upper Hill and taking them through a Kangaroo court.
Maina has said they plan to sue the officer for assault as they have already obtained P3 forms from the police.
The workers, mostly security guards at the company said they were unlawfully arrested and beaten up by the officer.
