INVITATION TO HON RAILA ODINGA’S MEDIA CONFERENCE;
Hon Raila Odinga will hold a media conference today, November 4, 2016, to discuss another Kenya Government project being executed in up in the Mau Escarpment diverting rivers Songol, Kipsonoi, Itare, Kipchorian, Chemosir and Jamju in Bomet and Kericho counties at the source in the Mau Forest for onward transmission to particular towns in Nakuru County.
Work has begun on the project which is funded by the Italian government despite technical evaluations indicating it will have adverse impacts on Sondu-Miriu hydro-power project, tea farming in the South Rift, the Mara eco-system and water availability in Bomet, Migori, Nyamira, Kisumu and Kericho counties. The project is also proceeding despite protests from host communities.
The briefing will take place at the Capitol Hill Square at 2:30 PM.
