RAILA ODINGA’S EASTER MESSAGE TO KENYANS
Warm greetings to all Kenyans celebrating Easter. I wish to convey greetings to fellow Christians in our country as we begin Easter season to commemorate the core event in the history of our faith; the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
This season marks that time in the history of human race moment when good conquered evil, hope overcame despair, justice conquered injustice and freedom won over captivity.
Easter reawakens the spirit and brings joy and new life. It reminds us that no matter how dark the hour may be, the sun shall surely rise and there will be another day, brighter day. As a country, we are going through a rough patch. But we must not give up. It is a reason and a season to make sacrifices, fight for the good cause and ensure good overcomes evil.
That is the spirit of Easter. It must be our spirit over this Easter and beyond. Mama Ida and I join you in prayers that Easter’s message strengthens us for the tasks ahead. Let us pray for our country and our leaders as we celebrate in our places of worship over this holiday.
