Raila’s ODM Party moves to clarify Ababu Namwamba’s Resignation and what will Follow

POSITION OF THE SECRETARY GENERAL
The ODM wishes to state as follows with regard to the position of the Secretary General of the party;
1). Hon. Ababu Namwamba who is the Secretary General of the party has not handed in the resignation letter despite news in the media that he has resigned from the post.
2). The appointment of the acting Secretary General of the Party in the event of a vacancy is not a reserve of the Party Leader or any other official of the party. The Central Committee has to meet then make recommendations to the NEC for consideration.
3). If it is true that Mr. Namwamba has resigned as reported in the media and subsequently hands in the resignation letter, the Central Committee will then meet Tuesday 12th July 2016 followed by the NEC meeting on Thursday 14th July 2016 to discuss the matter and make the necessary decision.
Any other information to the contrary should be treated as mere speculation.
