With the IEBC verdict, the sparks for lighting Kenya into smoke in 2017, have been ignited. This is really sad, because this is the complete opposite of what OKOA Kenya intended.
The Cord Coalition in conjunction with the Civil society, operating under the aegis of the OKOA Kenya, set out on a journey to harmonize the contentious issues in the constitution.
And after working hard, under meager resources and fledgling opposition structures, they managed 1.6 million signatures, obtained under shoestring budgetary constraints.
They presented 1.6million signatures, in files loaded in trucks and pickups.
Upon “scrutinizing” the files, IEBC Chairman came out and declared that only half of the 1.6 million signatures were found to be valid, and 850,000 signatures dismissed on very flimsy grounds.
This comes a few days after Jubilee lost Malindi, and a near loss in Kericho, where KANU has exposed how a clandestine rigging operation by Jubilee in cahoots with IEBC was executed, to deny KANU its win.
1.6 million was reduced to 890,000, now that’s rigging by any other definition. The red lights that Jubilee is intent on doing evil in 2017 are everywhere. This happened 1 day after Dualle claimed that CORD forged their signatures from MPESA agents, like Sakaja did for Uhuru to get him on the ballot paper.
Raila has to deal with this lion head on, if he has to have a shot in 2017, this IEBC is worse than the Kivuitu led ECK. And after losing in first; Kajiado Central, then; Malindi, Jubilee has come to the realization that they stand zilch chance beyond Mt Kenya and North Rift (Kalenjin) in 2017. And so their plan A is rigging, plan B is rigging and plan C is rigging. Infact the voter registration exercise was all a farce.
They kept announcing that Nyanza led, but the numbers were like 10,000 newly registered voters in 3 weeks, not even a sub-location. So this entire exercise was all set up to blind our eyes, in anticipation of this bombshell.
With an IEBC like this one which can move mountains for Jubilee, then CORD has to pull a major landslide in 2017, to give IEBC a gap large enough to ward off any rigging attempts. And they have to be very organized. And Raila has to spend 80% of his time running ODM, not CORD, coz that’s the unit that won’t abandon him, no matter what. The Ford K and Wiper, may just decide to screw him up at the eleventh hour, and so even as he courts the other partners, he has to transform ODM into a monolithic juggernaut, that Wiper and Ford K will be afraid of messing with.
But more importantly, Raila has to take IEBC by its horns and demand its reconstitution, because, as currently constituted, it’s a recipe for chaos, disaster and massive rigging machine for Jubilee. War has to be waged against IEBC.
Any revolution has to begin at IEBC. Raila’s match to State House begins and ends with the reconstitution of IEBC. CORD should start by naming its own parallel IEBC which would then draw up a master plan of electoral reforms, and foment a constitutional crisis that will force Jubilee to the negotiating table.
