Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has hit back at Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko just moments after the Governor accused him of frustrating him during a live interview in Kameme FM.
Through his friend and government blogger, Pauline Njoroge, PS Kibicho accused Governor Sonko of sideshows and fighting imaginary powerful enemies.
In a Facebook post, Pauline Njoroge who has been accused of being too close to top Jubilee leaders and technocrats like PS Kibicho, Peter Kenneth, Ambassidor Amina Mohammed, Uganda fugitive Mastanga, Mucheru etc blasted Sonko for linking PS Karanja Kibicho to the cartel of top Civil Servants and Jubilee operatives who are frustrating changes in City Hall.
Njoroge who has previously fixed journalists to be arrested including Nation writer Walter Menya, is reportedly under the payroll of Kibicho at Harambee House. The beautiful ‘slayer’ has been tasked with the duty of portraying in bad light the politicians who go against Kibicho’s word across the country.
Kibicho who was part of the former powerful names in the Kibaki kitchen cabinet is among the top Central Kenya leaders who opposed the UhuRuto candidacy in 2013 and he was reportedly behind the failed “Project Musalia Mudavadi” in 2013.
The PS who appears to have set up his own mini-government at Harambee House has of late been at loggerheads with Sonko.
Kibicho has even ordered Governor Sonko to pick a deputy governor of his choice to replace Polycarp Igathe who resigned in January.
According to sources early last month Kibicho also ordered Sonko to scale down his security and further directed him to stop flying flags on his official vehicle.
Sonko has reportedly has vowed not to be intimidated and instead asked the PS to focus on his core mandate. Sonko has also maintained that he will not appoint a bureaucrat seconded by Kibicho to be his deputy.
