STATE HOUSE PLOT UNCOVERED: IEBC TO BLOCK JOHO 2017 BID
Kenya Today last night unearthed a conspiracy plot incriminating the newly appointed Mombasa County IEBC Returning Officer one Ms Veronica Wanjiru in a plan to block Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho bid for second term in office by rejecting his nomination documents during vetting stage under the pretext of state probe into Joho’s academic background
Wanjiru secretly met with President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House Mombasa soon after the launch of the Standard Gauge Railway during which time she was given strict instructions to carry out the mission to use her official powers to stop Joho in exchange for state protection and reward after the lapse of the election vetting process.
The clandestine meeting between Statehouse and Veronica Wanjiru was organised by Ms Beatrice Mugo Jubilee coast region coordinator . Wanjiru and Ms Mugo are also said to be first cousins meaning elections in Mombasa will be overseen by people with blood relations.
The meeting held with consent of top IEBC officials and attended by senior state house mandarins resolved to give Wanjiru full support in order to satisfy Uhuru’s long running political feud with Governor Joho in which the president has variously vowed to ensure that Joho’s meteoric political rise is brought to a halt by whatever means necessary. IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati, a constitutional office holder, has been briefed of the developments and has yet to give direction on the matter.
Kenya Today could not reach Joho or any of his aides for comment.
