A Sunday Nation journalist has been arrested for reportedly soliciting a bribe for a story.
Well, it can now be confirmed that Menya was set up by a Mr Koros who sent him money MPesa and then requested to have Lunch with him. Menya did not ask for money, he agreed to meet Koros in order to hear his side of story.
One only needs to see how fast Jubilee operatives like Pauline Njoroge and Moses Kuria took to twitter and facebook with the breaking news ahead of everybody else.
Walter Menya was arrested on Sunday and is currently at the Kiambu CID headquarters.
Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet confirmed the arrest of the Nation Media Group writer.
Boinnet said Menya was arrested in the city centre when receiving a Sh50,000 bribe from a person he did not disclose.
He said the journalist will be charged in court with the offence of extortion on Monday.
At the time of going to press, it is not clear which story the journalist was following.
Nation, in its story of the arrest, said Menya was booked over a story implicating civil servants actively involved in Friends of Jubilee Foundation.
