Tricent Medical College Launches “Tell A Friend” Cash Reward Program to Boost Student Enrollment

Date:

Tricent School of Medical Health Science and Technology has rolled out an incentive program that allows students to earn up to Ksh 20,000 in cash for referring their peers to the institution. The new campaign, dubbed the “Tell A Friend” program, was unveiled by College Director Dennis Oketch as part of efforts to empower students while expanding access to quality medical education.

Under the initiative, current students stand to win cash prizes in tiers of Ksh 5,000, Ksh 10,000, and Ksh 20,000 for successful referrals. The move comes at a time when many students are grappling with the high cost of living and are seeking alternative ways to support their education.

“At Tricent, we’re not just focused on academic excellence—we also want our students to grow financially. This referral program helps them earn while encouraging others to join the Tricent family,” said Oketch.

To kickstart the initiative, the college awarded Ksh 50,000 to the first group of students who participated in the campaign. The payout serves as a clear demonstration of the institution’s commitment to rewarding student efforts and building a strong, connected community.

“This is a chance for our students to make a difference,” added Oketch. “They benefit directly, and at the same time, they help their friends gain access to quality, accredited training in the healthcare field.”

Tricent has built a reputation as one of Kenya’s top institutions for health and medical studies. The college operates from five campuses located in Nairobi West, Juja, Kisumu, Homa Bay, and Thika.

Its programs are accredited by respected bodies including TVET, CDACC, KNEC, KN&DI, NASCOP, ABMA (UK), ACCA, KASNEB, and ABE. This guarantees that students graduate with qualifications that meet both local and global standards.

Courses offered include Diplomas in Optical Technology, Orthopedic & Trauma Medicine, Nutrition & Dietetics, Health Records & IT, Community Health, Medical Engineering, Business Management, and Counseling Psychology. Certificate programs and short courses such as Health Service Support, Bridging Subjects, and HIV Testing & Counseling are also available.

With the new referral program now in place, Tricent aims to grow its student body while giving current learners a financial edge—turning opportunity into real value both inside and outside the classroom.
