Looking at the list of those selected to head Jubilee’s presidential campaigns in the Rift leaves anybody still left with some basic grey matter baffled.
Top on the list is, Dr. Joyce Laboso- The Sotik MP and the National Assembly Deputy speaker. Sotik is in South Rift. We have no representative from Kericho (this is forgiveable), non from Nandi, Non from Elgeiyo Marakwet and Non from Baringo.
Back to Joyce (Chois); undoubtedly, she is an iron woman. Ideally, you would expect that candidates to lead these campaigns must have demonstrated muscle to convince people and deliver votes. Chois was not able to deliver Nyangores votes to Jubilee.
Would it be stupid therefore, that expecting her to deliver jubilee votes in Bomet where CCM is gaining popularity by day, Kericho, Nandi, Uasin Gishu, Elgeiyo and Baringo considered a KANU bedroom is a tall order?
Secondly, where is the youth face among those selected? Who will deliver the youth constituency?
Kachapin is facing hostility from his people who seem to favor Lonyangapuo. He is undoubtedly torn between remaining in KANU and joining JP. Either way, he is losing gubernatorial.
Whoever drew the list is doing a great dis-service to the DP and his 2022- ambition!
