RAILA remembers KUMAMOTO earthquake victims

Prime Minister Raila Odinga has expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the victims of KUMAMOTO, that were struck by an earthquake in Japan.

In a statement to British and world media, the PM sent a word of encouragement to the bereaved of the 9 people that died, asking them to take heart during this difficult time.

“I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt sympathy to the victims of Kumamoto tremor. I and the people of Kenya are with the government of Japan during this trying time. For the bereaved, kindly take heart. I pray that God gives you the strength to overcome the loss” Said Raila in his statement.

“I want to assure the people of Kumamoto that their brothers and sisters from Kenya commiserate with them” Added the PM.

Japan was hit by a magnitude-7.0 that struck early Saturday killing 9 instantly. Thousands fled their homes and many people spent the night in the open in the town of Mashiki, near Kumamoto city on the island of Kyushu.

The PM is in the UK and is likely to be interviewed by world giant media house Al Jazeera, then Cable News Network (CNN) later tomorrow.
