A section of Muslim elders from across the country have told off embattled former Nairobi City County Assembly majority leader Abdi Guyo over his fights with Governor Mike Sonko.
The Muslim elders led by Mukuru kwa Njenga slums Chair, have advised Guyo to humble himself and respect Governor Sonko since the Governor played a key role for his re-election in Matopeni/Spring Valley Ward in Kayole.
Guyo has launched a well oiled smear campaign against Sonko after Nairobi Assembly MCAs replaced him with Hamza/Maringo Ward MCA Mark Ndung’u who is now the majority leader.
Guyo is also opposed to the return of Beatrice Elachi as the Assembly Speaker even after the court cleared her to resume office after her impeachment 13 months ago.
Guyo is also on the spot for favouring a section of MCAs by including them in multiple committees and lucrative foreign trips.

However, Governor Sonko who has been away on an official foreign trip has taken sides in the Guyo vs Elachi wars, but sources say the Governor will not oppose decisions made by the Assembly and the judiciary.
