By Hon Kiba
Goodmorning Kenya, today i have woken up with my head high,i am so proud of myself and my team,it was a worthy battle lost to a worthy opponent. I say a big thank you to the people of Kitutu Chache South who turned up to vote for me,thank you to my supporters across the country, thank you to The President and The Deputy President for believing in me,i give special thanks to my team,my family and my true friends. Hon. Japheth Nyakundi,Senator Milly Omanga,Donya Toto and Richard Tongi,The Jubilee youth league, thank you. God Bless you all.
This election has made me believe in myself so much,i was running on a jubilee ticket in a constituency perceived to be the opposition stronghold. The campaigns were exciting, the response was alwaya fabulous, however,i also experienced betrayal, betrayal by people i so seriously trusted.
I dont take this defeat as a loss, for me this is tremendous political growth,i am not the same person i was in April,i have grown, its only people who are naive and haters who will see this as failure. I see this as a step forward towards realizing the greatness in me.
Gunnering 5000 votes in a byelection on a rainy day, with the kindly voter fatigue our people had experienced is no mean achievement. Remember the entire the entire Kisii County government, all elected leaders in the region (both in jubilee and Nasa) other than Richard Richard N. Tongi were against me, Jubilee Leaders from the region who are uncomfortable with my growth other than Hon.Albert Nyaundi ,supported my opponent.
We lost the constest, however,we also have developed iron level confidence, confidence that will help us nurture our beautiful ambition. Some of my peers will try to ridicule me,mock me and even belittle me,imagine it wont hurt me,it wont move me,because unlike a majority of them i know where am headed.
To my MP Richard Onyonka, congratulations i know in due time you will be joining the government for us to work together to transform our constituency.
